Essay 1: The RomanticsConsider the major Romantic poets and then write a short critical paper (three to five typewritten pages) in which you do one of the following:
Remember that whatever choice you make, the response should center upon your ideas about the subject--with reference to the text or texts used solely for supporting the various points you will be making. To assure that you are, indeed, using adequate, specific support, you will need to draw upon the text, using well-chosen supporting quotations. Don't forget to use the proper MLA quotation/citation mechanics. Also, pay special attention to the framing of a focused thesis statement which points specifically to the direction your development will take. Without one, your reader is inadequately prepared for your presentation.
You will be required to do some research on this project, but keep your focus upon the introductory remarks above. In addition to the anthology we are using in class, you should have a minimum of three sources, excluding dictionaries and encyclopedias.
This essay is due on Wednesday, 25 October 2000.
Make certain that it is completed and emailed to me before midnight.
Remember: no late papers will be accepted.
